Brief History of FPC
1960's
Apostolic Faith Tabernacle was founded by Rev. James Bates and held services on Haviland Street in La Porte, IN.
1986
The church moved into a new location on State Road 4, just outside of La Porte, with Rev. James Henn serving as pastor. The church name was changed to "First Apostolic Church".
1988
The church purchased several acres of land and relocated to its current home at 1930 Boyd Blvd. in La Porte.
1993
Rev. Mark Johnson elected as pastor.
2000
Rev. Richard Hoffman elected as pastor.
2008
The five-thousand square foot multi-purpose Life Center was erected directly behind the church building.
2014
The church members voted to change the church name to "First Pentecostal Church".
2026
The Life Center was converted into the auditorium to hold services due to rising attendance.
